Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari kē he toa takitini - My success should not be bestowed onto me alone, it was not individual success but the success of a collective This whakatauki acknowledges team effort, that one’s success is due to the support and contribution of many. Just as it takes a village to raise a child, it takes community / a team to enable an individual’s success. Thank you for everything that you have done this year to support your child's learning.

What a year it has been!  It is hard to believe that in Term 1 we were still in the old building, waiting patiently to move into our new classrooms.  There have been many changes and challenges this year, and children have shown resilience, and a lot of growth, and should feel proud of their achievements.

After all the hard work put into making products to sell or designing games for others to play, it was fantastic to see how proud and excited children were to get involved in Market Day.  I'm sure that we have some amazing sales reps in the making, with some getting right into persuading others to buy their products.  It was also great to see children being kind, making good choices, and helping others to make the day a success.  This was a great project to finish the year!

I would like to say thank you to Portia Parmenter who has been teaching in Room 3 for terms 3 and 4, and I wish you all the best for your next adventure.  I would also like to say thank you to John Bish who has been a part of the middle syndicate for the last five years, and is retiring at the end of this year.  Mr Bish can now looking forward to spending time with family and enjoying some travel.

To you all, I hope you have a restful and healthy break.

Kia pai ngā hararei - Enjoy the holidays!
