Junior News

Swimming:

The long weekend came at a perfect time after a big few weeks of swimming. While it was busy, swimming was a wonderful way to kick off Term 4, and the beaming smiles in the pool clearly demonstrated how much our little people enjoyed it. We want to express our thanks to JC Swim School and their team of highly skilled swimming instructors. Every time, we continue to be impressed by the expertise they share and the rapid progress our children make. We also want to extend our thanks to all the wonderful parents and grandparents who gave up their time to assist us. We understand how demanding your schedules can be, so we appreciate you balancing work and personal commitments to support us – we couldn't do it without you!

Athletics:

Over the past week, the junior team has loved learning and practising their athletic skills in preparation for our school's upcoming athletics day next week. We've engaged in fun activities to refine our running, jumping, and throwing skills. It appears that we might have some future Olympic stars in the making!

PBL:

Last Friday, we had a special visit from the wonderful Whaea Ana, who shared stories about our Kaikorai community and the story of how our ancestors arrived in New Zealand. Ana is a skilled storyteller, and we were all captivated and amazed. From Ana's stories, we've gained numerous ideas on how to depict our community through art, and we look forward to sharing our artistic creations with you at the Art Exhibition in Week 6

Reminders:

• School hats: Remember that school hats must be worn in Terms 1 and 4. These can be purchased from the school office.
• Change of clothes: We kindly request that all children carry spare clothing in their bags.
