Senior Syndicate News

It has been a busy and exciting time for the Senior Syndicate team. Kaikville, a visit to the Edgar Centre, art, advertising, lots of learning in many different areas!

The Senior students have had a busy few weeks applying for their jobs for Kaikville. Some even stood for CEO and MP and were successful with their candidate speeches! All students have finished their apprenticeship week and have come back to class using words like negotiating, marketing, target audience, budgeting, and expenses! We are all really excited for the Kaikville week especially the Market Day on Friday June 7th.

We have also been looking at a variety of persuasive tools and techniques. Room 2 have been learning about debating and had great fun running a mock court case with Goldilocks and the three bears! Other classes have been looking at advertising and the tools marketers use to sell their products. Check out the photos below!

The Senior team were lucky enough to be invited to the Edgar Centre this week to participate in a drills and skills session run by Otago Polytech students. They rotated through football, hockey, basketball, rugby, and an obstacle course.  It was fantastic to see our pupils displaying the KAIK values as they interacted with other schools, listened to their tutors, and learned some new skills.

As always, thank you for your support.
