Week 7 Principal's news

Beth DownieMarch 19, 2025

Kaikorai has had a very successful week, with 94% of our families participating in whānau-learning conversations. This high level of engagement demonstrates a strong home-school partnership, where open communication and shared learning goals are valued.

Please feel free to contact your child's teacher at any time if you have any questions or concerns. You don't need to wait for scheduled meetings

PBL Visits 🌱

Our children have been actively making sense of their community through a series of trips over the past two weeks. The Kaikorai Common, Community Gardens, Bishops Court and visits to local rest homes have provided valuable learning experiences. In week 10, we will continue this journey with a visit to Arai Te Uru Marae. We welcome parent helpers and will provide more information in the coming weeks.

Turning 5 in 2026? ✏️

To help us plan for 2026, we need to know how many children will be starting at Kaikorai School. If your child turns 5 in 2026, or if you know of any in-zone children turning 5, please enrol them as soon as possible.

Staffing news

In week 9, we are excited to welcome back Miss Nicole Wilson. After her maternity leave following the birth of her baby, Īhāia, Nicole will return to teach in Rūma Iwa for Term 2.

Enjoy the long weekend and we look forward to seeing you back at school on Wednesday 26th March.
