Rūma tekau celebrating the opening of the new school with ice cream  by Beth Downie

Senior news - August

What an exciting 3 weeks we have had!

It is hard to believe we have only been in our new space a matter of days - it feels like a lot longer already. I have overheard conversations with our tamariki in the last few days and they are saying things like "it feels like home" "It is so calm and peaceful" "It was worth the wait". To me, these are great indicators that we are on the path to success.

I have seen some great collaborative teaching and co-teaching happening. The children have taken to the new space and the new way of teaching amazingly well as have our teachers - Tino pai to Mahi!

Scriptwriting is underway for our school movie and we are planning our trips to get out and film our classes segment. We have Sir. Ian Taylor coming to talk to the seniors in the next few weeks about movie production. We also have Rainbow Rosalind who is a well know Dunedin TV entertainer and Award-winning Children’s Singer/Songwriter coming to share her knowledge with the Seniors.

If you have not yet popped in to look around the new space - please do so before after school, you are more than welcome!  - Nau mai haere mai !

As always thank you for your support.

Beth Downie and the Senior Syndicate.
