Principal's News

The last three weeks have been highlighted with lots of success in a range of areas!

Tomorrow is election day and what ever your political preferences we should all take part in the democratic process and vote.  I would encourage you to take the family and celebrate our right to vote in New Zealand, and take the time to talk to your child about the importance of voting as it is concerning the number of 18-30 year old's who don't vote.

It has been a fascinating election campaign and your decision on who to vote for will come down to many things.  Hopefully education is one of the issues you have considered and this link below clearly explains each parties polices on key educational issues.

Our appointment of a new Deputy Principal to replace Linda Martin in 2018 has concluded and we wish to extend a warm congratulations to Robin Hartley.  Many of you will know Robin already as he is currently teaching in Room 4.

Congratulations also goes out to our Kapa Haka group, especially the junior taina who performed for the first time at Polyfest.

My final congratulations goes to Taisei O'Sullivan Naito.  Although no longer a student here, his first introduction to digital design was at Kaikorai School when he and a group of students worked with Hatch Education last year.  We take great pride in his success in creating his "Dunedin Trails" app .  Pip Dick from Hatch continues to work with our Year 3-6 students each Monday.

Finally, the school movie "Just Another Ordinary Day" sounds like a James Bond title (and has almost as many special effects!!) is nearing completion for its world premiere on October 25th.  Please make sure you read the important announcement regarding our crowd funding campaign so that the whole community can enjoy this movie.  A special thanks to Courtney Dunn for organising both the Kapa Haka and this years movie.
