The Senior team are excited to get running!  by Beth Downie

Senior Syndicate Term 3 news

Read on to find out what the Senior Syndicate have been learning this term.

What a fantastic start to Term 3 the Senior syndicate have had. We welcomed Mr. Mark Pickering to the Senior team and Room 2A have been working really together as they get to know each other.

We have shown grit and perseverance while training to select the Hills Cluster cross country team.  The children that participated in this weeks event represented the school exceptionally well with a number of runners being selected to race at the Otago Cross Country in Week 6.

Next week we visit Toitū Otago Settlers Museum. We will be dressing up as school children from the 1900's and finding out what school life was like in the past.  We will learn about Dunedin's early history and what our city's influences were. Another focus will be looking at different ways exhibitions in a museum can tell our story - this is in preparation for our own museum next term. Please let your child's teacher know if you are able to help out with this visit, further information can be found in the notice that has been sent home.

Our writing focus has been looking at the 150th reunion, writing messages in bottles, diary entries, and time capsule exerts- thinking about what people would want to know about our school and our lives in another 50 years time. Read some senior students writing below.

Classes are beginning to ramp up their production ideas. Some dance has been happening in classes, costume design, mixing of music and video backdrops. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you can help in any way.  Don't forget the date for your diary - Week 9, 19th September.

Well done to Race, Arlette, Tyler, and Austin for receiving Senior Assembly certificates for kindness. Also to William, Ayden, Maddox, and Ellie for their certificates for Leadership.

As always, thank you for your support and please don't hesitate to get in touch if we can help in any way.
