Final Principal's news 2024

Ngā mihi nui kia koutou katoa 🌟

As the school year comes to a close, it’s important to recognise the incredible team at Kaikorai who make our school such a special place. While we may be "just" doing our jobs, we do so with love, kindness, and a commitment to going the extra mile every day—all for the benefit of the children at the heart of our decisions. I’m sure you’ll agree that our teachers and support staff are exceptional and truly deserve acknowledgment. I hope my team enjoys a restful and happy holiday—and remember to turn off their emails!

Best wishes to Team Leader Ruth Faulkner as she steps into her new role as Principal of Garston School and to our legendary support staff member Al as he embarks on exciting new ventures.

Thank you to our whānau for your ongoing support and encouragement in my role. Serving our community is a true privilege.

My final note for 2024, as I said in my speech on Wednesday night at the Leavers celebration, is that every day may not be good, but there is good in every day. What you look for is what you see;  Look for the gold and the glimmers, and you will find them; look for the gaps and the bad things, and that is what you will see.

I wish you and your whānau a happy and healthy holiday season, and I look forward to doing it all again in 2025.

Class placement 2025

On Monday, 2025 classes will get together and meet their new teacher, Matua Kane McKay is coming in for the morning and I know the tamariki will be excited to meet him. Ms Emily Armstrong cannot come in as she is still teaching at Anderson's Bay School.

It is essential to approach conversations with your children about new teachers, classrooms, and friendships using positive language. Change is a natural part of life and offers valuable opportunities to explore and embrace new experiences.
