Principal's news week 3

Mā whero, mā pango ka oti ai te mahi ~ With red and black the work will be complete (when we all work together, the mahi will be done!)

Last week I asked for help from our community to create a sculpture from some items salvaged from the rebuild. I am thrilled that Andy (Jack's dad) reached out and said Yep! I can do that for you. This is what is special about Kaikorai - asking for help, working collaboratively and using the expertise and experience within our community. We ask this from our tamariki every day to work collaboratively, to reach out to experts and work together for success. Thanks, Andy, for your help.

I look forward to updating you all on the progress of this special creation for our new administration block.

Property news and Naylor Love building site tour 🦺

On Friday, 11th November, we have been invited by Naylor's for a tour around our new school admin and library block. All children will have the opportunity for a guided tour by Naylor's staff through our new spaces. (Please note the site will not be 'live' while we are visiting). Naylor's is also treating all of our tamariki to a sausage sizzle afterwards, followed by a gumboot throw competition. We are excited to see our new spaces come to life!

Please ensure your child has closed-in shoes on this day.

This a reminder the old junior block demolition begins this weekend; please avoid coming on-site during the demolition phase.

Jump Jam Nationals

This weekend Miss Hardie's Kaikorai Jumpers are performing in the Jump Jam Nationals in Christchurch. This is the first time in Kaikorai history that we have been involved in such an auspicious occasion. Miss Ward, Miss Hardie and I are excited to travel to Christchurch this weekend to tautoko the team. Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for updates on the competition!

Best wishes to the girls for their performance!

Three weeks of lost property

This photo below is three weeks' worth of unnamed and unclaimed lost property. There are an awful lot of togs and towels left behind after swimming. Please consider ordering name labels from this company.
