Walk to School Week

Walk to School Week begins this week - Monday 24th February to Friday 28th February.

Walk to School Week is an initiative run by Sport Otago in conjunction with the Dunedin City Council to promote and encourage active transport to school and is offered to all Otago primary schools. Students are encouraged to walk to school.   Walk to School Week is used to 'kick-off' the year for active transport and to keep students aware of the importance of using active transport. So help spread the word and provide a safe walking environment for our children to get to school.

Please help encourage your child / children to walk to school; there are great prizes up for grabs.  Children will be given a progress card to keep at school and will fill these in each time they walk.  Completed cards will then be sent away to Sport Otago for the chance to win a prize.  Spot prizes will also be given out at school.

Hi parents. My name is Ella George and I am a registered Suzuki music Teacher.

I am excited to be able to offer Suzuki music education to the families of Kaikorai Primary School. Students who choose to learn violin or cello from me at school will have a lesson from me once a week during school hours.

The Suzuki method is an aural method of learning music that is designed to be a natural way for children to learn an instrument. Suzuki students also get together in the holidays for music workshops and camps around the country. A workshop is planned to take place in Dunedin in April 2020.
