Principal's news
We hope your child has had a settled start to term 3.
Cross country 🏃
Next week, we hope to have our school cross-country run on Tuesday. The weather looks dreadful, however, so please be prepared for a postponement. If we need to postpone, we will post on our school Facebook page and send a message on SeeSaw.
Thank you for being so supportive.
Snow days and late starts ❄️
We haven't yet had any need for a late start or any hint of a snow day; as a reminder, these are the protocols around a snow day/late start.
If the weather looks like it will be a late start or snow day, the Otago Primary Principal's Association (OPPA) will make the call by 7 a.m. The principals will be informed, and we will then inform our school community on the usual channels—Facebook, SeeSaw, and newsletter.
OPPA will let the radio stations know at this time, too.
If you feel unsafe getting to school at any time, please do what is best for your whānau.

Pākiki Kids
Pākiki Kids is a weekly one-day programme for gifted children (Years 3-8) which has been operating in Dunedin for over 13 years. Pākiki Kids offers gifted students the opportunity to learn with like-minded peers using a specialised curriculum developed specifically for the programme.
Pākiki Kids can be a game-changer for gifted students because here they can finally find other kids who are like them - quirky, think differently and outside the box, love delving deeply into topics, relish philosophical discussions, experience the world intensely, care deeply about injustice, have hundreds of questions rushing around their minds, etc.
Application Packs to Pākiki Kids for new students to start the programme in February 2025 are now available. Completed applications must be returned by 25 September 2024. More information is included in the flyer attached.
