Goodbye, Miss Boardman!
Today is Miss Boardman's last day at Kaikorai Primary. She has been an asset in the classroom and will be missed by the children. We wish Miss Boardman all the best in her teaching career.
Parent Interviews
Thank you for attending the parent interviews this week and supporting your child's learning at school and home. Our teachers have worked hard to provide meaningful information about your child's progress. We appreciate spending time with you to celebrate your child's successes and share the next steps for learning academically and socially.
If you have not received your child's report, please email your child's class teacher.
Matariki
Matariki is a time to gather with whānau and friends to reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and plan for the future. This year the Matariki holiday will be during the school holidays on Friday, the 14th of July.
We will celebrate Matariki at Kaikorai Primary on Wednesday, the 19th of July, at 5 pm. Come along with a picnic tea for your whānau and take part in a lantern walk around the school. There will be an opportunity to visit the classes and view your child/child's learning.
PBL
Our learners are focusing on creating their projects to demonstrate their understanding of space and show their creativity and imagination. We look forward to sharing our projects with you on the 19th of July during our Matariki celebrations.
Otago Museum
The senior team classes visited the planetarium at the Otago Museum this term. We took an astronomical adventure through our night sky and learned all about Matariki, the solar system and other space phenomena. Thank you to all of the parent helpers for this trip.

Road Patrol Roster
A copy of the new roster for Term 3 has been sent home with your child.
If students have other commitments on their allocated days, please remind them to organise one of the reserves at the start of the school day. This allows time to contact the parents of the students covering the patrol.
ICAS
We have decided to discontinue offering the ICAS assessment to senior students at Kaikorai Primary. The Australian-based assessment does not align with the New Zealand Curriculum, and teachers do not use it as part of their assessment processes. We appreciate your understanding with this decision.
Balmacewen Open Night
Balmacewen Intermediate School Open Night for Year 6 families will be held on Wednesday, 2nd of August, beginning at 6 pm.

On Thursday, we celebrated Support Staff Week. In our senior team, we are fortunate to have two very experienced teacher's aides. Our senior team students organised a special event for Jill and Renae. They presented a song, made cards and crowns, assembled bouquets, shared kind words and more. We were impressed with our students' effort and energy in making this a special day. Their kindness and care for others are to be commended.
Thank you to everyone in our learning team for your commitment to our goals for the children, each other and the community. Your hard work and dedication to our tamariki are genuinely appreciated.
