Year 9 Camp - newsletter

KHS Editor —

All year 9 parents should have already received notification about our camp programme.

We are now able to confirm the following core classes will attend camp on these dates.

  • Camp A March 11, 12, 13 - 9 Weta, 9 Kukupa, 9 Tui and 9 Kewai

  • Camp B March 13, 14, 15 - 9 Marearea, 9 Ruru and 9 Te Ara Hou

We may need to shift a core class from one camp to the other in order to balance student numbers but you will be notified at least one week before camp if that does eventuate.

Our expectation is that all year 9 students will attend as there will be a number of benefits to them:

  • Develop an increased sense of belonging and pride in Kamo High School

  • Increased understanding of our Kamo High School values and expectations

  • Share common experiences with peers and staff

  • Develop/demonstrate social responsibility and their ability to support others

  • Demonstrate a range of positive interpersonal skills, empathy, respect, tolerance

  • Experience new and familiar adventure based activities.

Students unable to attend when their core class is at camp will be required to work from home as there will be no scheduled classes for them during that time.

You will receive further information next week via a hard copy newsletter and email notifying you of payment details. You will need to complete permission slips along with advising us of any specific medical conditions that may affect your child. This can be done on hard copy or electronic.

Please check your emails or the bottom of your child's bag.
