2023 Cariad Charitable Trust Scholar - Anna Reuben

KHS Editor —

On behalf of the team at First Foundation, our Board, our Scholarship Partners, and the Scholars who have gone before you, I would like to congratulate and welcome Anna Reuben to the First Foundation whānau.

First Foundation unleashes the potential of talented, trailblazing young Kiwis whose circumstances may make it harder to attend university. Much more than a scholarship, the First Foundation programme not only provides financaial help and exposure to the world of work but provides a dedicated mentor who'll be there along the way - so even if they're the first in your family togo to university, they'll have support from someone who's been there before.

To become a First Foundation scholar, students applied, demonstrating their academic and leadership credentials. They were then shortlisted to go through a rigourous interview process with First Foundation and then usually with the scholarship partner themselves.

In 2023 First Foundation received over 500 applications and awarded 82 scholarships throughout Aotearoa. Those selected have proven themselves.
