Jumble Sale update
The Jumble Sale was organised by several students along with three teachers, Martyn-James Atkinson, Wayne Atkins, and Juanita Craig.
We collected lots of jumble over a two-week period and the students organised it into separate sections. Lucia Fenwick and Hazel Crump organised the voluminous amount of clothes into various sections and it turned out to be the most attractive section for buyers. That being said, almost all of the toys and kitchen appliances were sold.
We started off with two to three hundred books and at least half were sold. One lucky student grabbed himself the super-large TV. Quite a few parents and others showed up to have a look-see. Lucia and Logan Head stayed until 5:30pm to help sell things on the day.
Overall, we sold about 2000 items on the day. Of course, being a jumble sale, the prices were mostly very cheap. This of course helped with sales. After the fact, the students helped with the big clear-up. We donated all remaining clothes and shoes to Save Barn and linen and cushions went to the SPCA Op Shop in Kamo.
We raised about $400 and it will be used to support the elderly in Kamo Home Village with food/cake before Christmas and the New year.
Other students involved were Detroit Keogh, Joel O'Callahagn, Luka Montgomery-Morunga, Aodhan Nelson-Lynch, Ben Attwood- Eddlington, Devron Pohe, Tahana Parkinson, Melissa Zhuang and Cody McQuinn.
