A Word from the Prefects.........
In the past few weeks there has been a lot happening around the school. The year 13 PE and OED classes participated in the Tough Guy and Gal challenge, which was held in Kumeu, Auckland. This event involved running 6km through obstacles and lots of mud. It was great fun for all of us to challenge ourselves, get stuck into the mud and just have a good time.
Last week we also held the Kamo High School Open Evening. There was a good turn out for this - it looks like another good year in the making with lots of positive feedback from those who attended. Thanks to the staff, junior ambassadors and prefects for making this a successful and fun evening.
Recently, myself and two fellow Head Prefects went to a Youth Forum with Emily Henderson, the MP for Whangarei, and mayor Sheryl Mai. This was an opportunity for them to hear from youth in Whangarei about what they think about a range of topics.
Thirteen Kamo High School rugby players are playing in the Whangarei Combined 1st XV. They have had a big win against Dargaville and a loss to Kerikeri. Come along and support them for their next home game. Preparations for tournament week in week 6 are all go. This is very exciting for all the students going. I am sure you will all do well and represent Kamo High School to the best of your ability.
Ngā mihi
