Pipiwai Road Rehabilitation

KHS Editor —

Fulton Hogan have advised of a project they’re doing for Whangarei District Council on Pipiwai Road, it includes a daytime closure on weekdays (full details in attached letter).

Work will begin Tuesday 29 October and will run through until mid-December. The project includes improving drainage, removing vegetation and rebuilding the road itself. Due to the tight site constraints, ensuring safety for road users and workers, along with a desire to have the works completed as soon as possible (prior to Christmas) the road will be closed.

The section of Pipiwai Road between the roundabout and 131 Pipiwai Road will be closed during the day (9.00am – 7.00pm) from 4 November until mid-December, (6 weeks) while pavement construction is in progress. For the first week of construction (29 October – 1 November) we will maintain one lane open under stop/go traffic management.
