A Year of Sports

KHS Editor —

I would like to thank all of our coaches for 2022. Without you these students above would not have been able to accomplish what they did. You give up so much of your personal time to commit to our Kura and for that we cannot thank you enough. We wish all of our students, whanau and friends a safe and festive holiday and look forward to hitting the ground running with sport in 2023.

NSSSA EVENTS

Last week saw the last of our NSSSA Events for the year finishing up with Tennis Doubles and Junior Girls Badminton. We had a great turnout and the weather gods played their part for our day of Tennis! It was great to see some new names coming forward to have a go at some different sporting codes.

VOLLEYBALL

Last week our Junior Boys Volleyball participated in the North Island Secondary School Junior Championships in Mt Manganui. Our boys did extremely well finishing up 27th in the top 32 tier tournament in NZ. The original draw did not prove to be in our favour with 2 of the 3 other teams in our pool ending up in the finals so needless to say our first few games of pool play were extremely tough ones! Our boys did really well though and never once felt depleted picking themselves up and coming away with some great wins. The comradery amongst these boys was amazing and we were extremely proud of the way they represented our Kura at tournament. Well done.

COACHES

It is now that time of year where we look towards preparation for 2023. If you are interested in coaching a sport for 2023....WE NEED YOU!
Please contact our Sports Co-ordinator Adyn Anderson on sports@kamohigh.school.nz if you would like to discuss this further.

SPORTS PRIZEGIVING

Wednesday night saw us host our Sports Prizegiving for 2022. Thank you so much to all of those that attended. It was a fabulous evening and it was great to finally once again see a full year of sport recognised. All photos from our Prizegiving can be found on our Kamo High School Sports Facebook page.
