“Tai Tokerau Trades Training’s Education To Employment team popped into our school on Wednesday this week to film a Trade Academy Profile video for our Construction Trade Academy here at Kamo High School.

They are promoting the idea of Trade Academies as a talent pipeline for industry. They want industry to know that if they need a new apprentice, who is committed to a pathway and has already begun their practical journey, then a Trade Academies should be their first port of call!

Tai Tokerau Trades Training interviewed some of our amazing students and tutors to gain their perspectives and experiences. They hope that the industry will watch this video and recognise the maturity, commitment and potential in these students and come looking next time they want to hire!

Their work is all in an effort to connect schools and industry in a meaningful manner so that our Tai tamariki have amazing employment outcomes here in Te Tai Tokerau.

The staff would like to thank Alice, Regan and Awhina for their words of encouragement and engagement with us and the students in this video production highlighting our pathway into the industry. Although the students were a little shy they soon warmed up under the guidance of the Tai Tokerau team, so again thank you for this awesome opportunity.
