The Importance of Saying Goodbye
When you first leave your child, they may get upset.
This is not easy but it is very important that you do say goodbye and not just sneak away. When children turn around and discover that their parent has just disappeared they start to panic. They also don’t trust the people they have been left with because they may be the people that took their parent away! Therefore, although it is hard to say goodbye, your child will learn that when you do say goodbye you going to leave, but will come back.
It is also important to actually leave once you have said goodbye. If your child is
upset, ensure that you pass them over to their key teacher so that they can receive
comfort from someone they know and trust.
