Kia ora tātou

Tomorrow is the last day of Term 1. It has been an unusual, busy and at times difficult eleven weeks. We have managed to successfully adapt to not knowing from day to day which staff would be here and which children they would be working with onsite and who would be working at home.

The term has reaffirmed a number of things for me:

You will be aware that the country is moving to the Orange setting of the COVID Protection Framework (CPF) from 11.59pm tonight. Please note that this short timeframe does not provide enough time for us to consider the impact of the change at KNS and we have yet to receive guidance from the MoE about the change. Mask wearing with therefore be an expectation at KNS tomorrow, for all children from Years 4 to 8 and for adults on site unless individuals have a mask exemption. I would appreciate you explaining this to your children. We will make a decision about mask wearing at the Orange setting over the holidays, after consideration of advice and guidance from the MoE.

I hope you all manage to take advantage of the upcoming Easter break for a recharge.

· I orea te tuatara ka patu ki whao. A problem is solved by continuing to find solutions.

A thought to share with your children:

· “I shall pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer it or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” (Stephen Grellet)

I wish you all a safe and enjoyable Easter break.
