Colds, flu and viruses

Dear Parents / Caregivers,

We are writing to inform you that there are children in Rooms 7 and 9 this year that are immunocompromised. This means that they have a weakened immune system so

contracting colds, flu, and viruses such as Chickenpox can be more serious for them than for other children.

It is for this reason that we are reminding you to please keep your child at home if they are showing signs of illness. We appreciate your consideration in this matter.

The children in the class are being made aware of the importance of handwashing and using hand sanitiser more regularly. We ask that you also use hand sanitiser on entry to the classrooms in Team Kōwhai.

We have developed strategies for keeping Rooms 7 and 9 as clean as possible including regular cleaning of tables and hand sanitising and we thank you in advance for your support.

If you have any questions around this, please contact your child’s classroom teacher.

Kind regards

Rõpū Kōwhai
