Introducing KNS Board member Joe Benbow

Jacqueline Wee —

Kia ora

I became a new parent representative on the KNS Board in 2022. I’m married to Sacha (who will be familiar to many of you) and dad to Chloe (Year 5), Alfie, and Charlie (both now at Wellington College). We moved here from the UK in 2008 and have been a part of the KNS community since then.

I’m currently working as the Chief Financial Officer at Accuro Health Insurance, and I’m an actuary by profession (someone who forecasts financial risk). In my spare time, I do a LOT of running around the hills and trails of Karori – we’re so fortunate to have such beautiful trails on our doorstep!

I’m almost through a busy summer of ultramarathons and in a few weeks am running the Routeburn, Kepler and Milford tracks. During the lockdowns, I ran every street in Karori, every trail in Zealandia and every trail in Makara MTB park (I know – I’ve been told many times I’m crazy or having a midlife crisis!)

I’m really proud of the supportive, inclusive KNS culture we have, and am constantly blown away by the passion and energy of our staff and volunteers. I’m very grateful to have the opportunity to serve on the Board and help take KNS from strength to strength, so that all of our tamariki can flourish.
