We currently have 15 positive student cases and 1 child who has returned to school having tested positive and completing the required self-isolation. Please remember to let us know if your child tests positive for COVID, you can do this by emailing our school office, office@kns.school.nz .

You will be aware that the MoE strongly recommends the continuation of mask-wearing for children in Years 4 to 8. For at least, the first half of Term 3, we will be continuing with our earlier practices around mask wearing at KNS.

Please see our expectations around mask wearing below:

- If your child is in Year 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 they should continue to bring a mask to school and wear it whenever they are indoors, unless they have a mask exemption.

- We want the decision as to whether children continue to wear a mask, to be made by their parents/caregivers and would appreciate it if you would ensure that your children understand your expectations. Please try to be as clear as possible with your child that you either; want them to wear a mask when they are indoors or you do not wish them to do this. Your support and understanding is greatly appreciated.

- To minimise unnecessary issues arising, when our staff are expecting our Year 4 to 8 children to wear masks, please let us know if you do not want your Year 4 to 8 child to wear a mask. If you do not wish your child to wear a mask, please email office@kns.school.nz and your child’s teacher.

Please ensure your children bring their own masks to school and ensure they have a extras in their bag in case they lose or break them.
