Message from the Principal

Conrad Kelly —

E te whānau, tēnā koutou katoa,

Welcome back to KNS for the last term of 2022, it’s hard to believe we are in the latter half of October already. We have a busy and exciting next nine weeks planned, including:

  • Our Year 7 & 8 classes all being involved in camps at Lake Rotoiti in Nelson, over the first three weeks of the term. This week Rooms 26 and 27 are on camp.
  • Our Year 5 & 6 classes all taking part in 3 day camps at El Rancho in Waikanae, these camps will take place in the week beginning, Monday 14 November, the fifth week of the term.
  • A ‘Pop up Gala’ in the week commencing Monday 07 November.
  • A powhiri for new children on Tuesday 02 November.
  • A performing arts concert on Thursday 08 December.

Huge congratulations to Finn from Room 27. Finn has been offered a place in Junior Theatre Festival New Zealand’s Pilot Programme. This workshop sees 40 students from across the motu selected to travel to Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) to work with both international and national industry professionals on a yet to be released Broadway JR musical. Finn also played Olaf in the Musical Stars Performance Trust’s recent production of Frozen.
