Permanent part-time, term time only, 30 hours per week to start Term 1, 2023

Wellington Girls’ College is looking for an Office Administrator– Receptionist to be the welcoming face for all students, staff and visitors, and to provide administrative support. You will be part of a friendly office team who work together to ensure the school office runs smoothly. 

This is a permanent part-time role, school terms only. The hours will be 30 per week worked Monday to Friday 8.30am – 3.00 pm. 

The start date will be 25 January, 2023 with the option of starting in the last weeks of Term 4, 2022 to undertake some training and induction. The hours for this time will be negotiable. 

Key duties include:

  • Reception/ telephone enquiries 
  • Mail & couriers 
  • Be the first point of contact for student enquiries 
  • Stationery orders 
  • Assist the Office Manager as required 
  • Assist with first aid when required, have a current first aid certificate or willingness to train 

Applicants must be 

  • Competent and have a sound knowledge and skill with Google and Microsoft Office applications 
  • Have the ability to multi-task 
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to engage with people in a manner that is culturally appropriate and consistent with the principles of Te Tiriti O Waitangi 
  • Be discrete and maintain a high level of confidentiality 
  • Have a high level of empathy and interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent attention to detail 

The salary range will be $23.57 - $26.01 Grade 2 on Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement.
