Introduction to KNS Board Chair, Simon Johnson

Simon Johnson —

Kia ora,

I am Simon Johnson and I am one of the parent reps on the KNS Board, and also the Chair of the Board. I am married to Sarah and our twin children, Hannah and Thomas, are in year 6 this year.

I am passionate about supporting our tamariki to progress and succeed both in my role on the Board and in my day job as Acting Chief Operating Officer at Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington. Outside of work, I am a keen mountain biker, amateur theatre performer, singer and passionate cricket supporter. This year, I am thrilled to be playing Annas in Wainuiomata Little Theatre’s production of Jesus Christ Superstart.

While I grew up in the Waikato, I have a proud family history at KNS – both my father and grandfather are former pupils. We love living in Karori and really enjoy the strong sense of community and the abundance of native wildlife – it’s something incredibly special to have tīeke and kaka in our garden and falling asleep to the sound of kiwi!

I am thrilled to serve on the Board and to ensure our school’s strong history of achievement continues.
