Message from the Principal

Conrad Kelly —

E te whānau, tēnā koutou katoa,

Last Friday, ex-KNS student and Olympic Gold Medalist, Phil Wilson came to speak to our Year 7 & 8 children, to share his experience and answer questions. It was great to hear Phil talk about his time at KNS, especially being taught by Mr Wong, and then Wellington College. Something he said that resonated with me was, that he played multiple sports until he decided, in Year 13, to focus solely on rowing. Phil certainly reinforced the message of getting involved, giving things a go, persevering and working hard when opportunities arise.

I was also very impressed with our Year 7 & 8s, who listened respectfully and asked great questions for almost an hour. Not many adult audiences would have been as polite and attentive. I was, and am, very proud of our tamariki.

Many thanks also, to our KNS PTA, particularly Thea Wallace, for organising our school picnic on Friday. It was wonderful to see so many of you there, enjoying the weather, the great company and the fantastic performance of our Kapa Haka Extension Group.

A huge thank you to our whole school community for your generosity in support of the Cyclone Gabrielle relief efforts. A total of $970.90 is being donated to the New Zealand Red Cross from KNS.

As always if you need any support or have any questions, please contact one of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT):
