Message from the Principal
E te whānau, tēnā koutou katoa,
Tomorrow marks the end of Term 1 2023. It has been a busy 10 weeks, readjusting to the ‘normality’ we are fortunate to be experiencing at the moment. Our children have worked hard and earned a well-deserved break.
It was great to see so many of you at yesterday’s open morning. We are aware that the COVID restrictions of the past 3 years have impacted the relationship we have with you. Rebuilding that relationship is an ongoing focus for us and we hope that you, and your children, enjoyed the opportunity to share and learn about what goes on in our classrooms. Our first staff meeting next term will be focussed on how we can continue to improve our communication about our programmes at KNS, without overwhelming you.
Included in this newsletter is a notice regarding parent/teacher meetings in the third and fourth week of Term 2. The purpose of these meetings is to:
- Discuss how your child has settled into school this year
- Outline your child’s progress and achievement
- Connect with families
Today, nine of our Year 7 & 8s will be representing KNS in the Wellington Regional Lit Quiz. We wish them all the best for today and look forward to hearing how they went.
Breaking News
One of our teams has just won the Wellington Regional Lit Quiz. This is a wonderful achievement. More details in Term 2 newsletter.
After your almost 4 years as our ‘Kiss and Drop’ Coordinator, Lizzie Beynon has passed the role to Ilona Smith. Thank you Lizzie for your great work keeping our children safe and thanks Ilona, for taking on this role.
