Year 9 Art students were keen to show kotahitanga recently by participating in a Katikati Festival of Arts activity, their contribution being a very large, bright and cheerful sunflower.

They shaped petals from used animal feed sacks and coloured each one with layers of pastel. A combination of different acrylic paint applications was used for the stem and leaves. Their completed sunflower can be seen alongside others from local schools at the town library.
