We are Netta and Sam, your 2015 Academic Captains and we've been working hard behind the scenes to encourage and nurture the academic spirit in and around Katikati College.

As Academic Captains, our highest priority has been ensuring students remain academically focused amid the other goings on in their lives and reminding them of the importance of staying on the right track here to help them later in life. We have also been recognising and applauding Katikati students' academic successes in competitions such as Science Fair, ICAS and the like.

Our upcoming initiatives are to introduce a peer tutoring system in time for the end of year exams, to be announced at the next student ­led assembly. Furthermore, we are planning an inter house quiz competition for the junior school as a bit of end-­of-­term fun and as a way of bringing house spirit into the academic side of the school.
