Katikati College musicians shine

Wendy Fleming —

Congratulations to Louie Campbell and Brianna Rackham on their amazing success of late.

Brianna was one of four winners of the Tunes of Waikato. The inaugural Tunes of Waikato Youth Music Challenge took place at Hamilton's Meteor Theatre on Sunday, August 18. It was open to anyone who lived in the Waikato region aged between 12 and 24 years old,  with just four groups or solo or duo acts chosen to receive guidance from those in the know. The winners will also have their original songs recorded at Porch Studio, perform their music at 20 venues including schools, educational institutes, malls and markets in Waikato and benefit from world-wide online radio play. Well done Brianna - all your hard work is paying off.

Congratulations also to Louie Campbell, winner of the 2019 Jann Medlicott Creative Art Award. The award, which is administered by the Acorn Foundation, is made to an outstanding local creative person who is passionate and excelling in their chosen field of the arts, with the $2000 prize going towards supporting their ambition in undertaking further study and ultimately their career.
