The Katikati College Tradies, our Year 11 boys team have been competing together since they were Juniors and this year played in the TCBA Year 11 competition at Trustpower Arena every Friday night. They have had an extremely successful season. Coached by Tane Bennett and Mike Perry and managed by Liza Hodson, the team have worked really hard on their skill set and set plays and have lots of talent across the team. Their results over the season were 10 wins out of 10 putting them in the semi-finals against MMC Fittyz. They won this game 35-33, one of the toughest games in the season. This put them into the final against ACG Senior Boys and the Tradies cut loose with Isaac Rangikotua in excellent form well supported by Douglas Veatupu and Ocean Redden under the basket. Cruz Hodson, Dontae Nathan and Dylan Main all worked hard in defence with Lincoln Morrison providing terrific link play. Finn Brown was injured but got on in the last few minutes with Kingston Drewry unfortunately away for the final. It was a free-scoring game but ACG fought hard and made them work for every point.
