EPro8

Hamish Carr —

Twelve of our Year 7 and 8 students represented the College at the annual EPro8 challenge, which was held for the first time at Katikati College.

Ten teams from six schools competed for a place at the regional semifinals. Well done to all the teams. The Katikati Unicorns placed second overall and will represent the school at the regionals.

EPro8 is an engineering challenge with four different challenges that are broken into smaller tasks. It involves structures, pulleys, motors, sensors and wheels. Participants have two and a half hours to score as many points as possible.

Congratulations to:

Madeleine Watts, Jorja McKeown, Layla Hoskin, Antonia Judson, Eugene Pfennig, Ben Tanner, Alex Capper, Hamish Tanner, Michael Foote, Sam Vickers, Michael Kean and Jack Preston.

To secure the hosting of the event in 2019 we are seeking sponsorship of $700 for the event. Please contact Hamish Carr (hcarr@katikaticollege.school.nz) for further information on this opportunity.
