Katikati College students have again demonstrated their ability to compete at the highest level in this competition.

Katikati College had two teams competing in one of four semi-finals of E Pro 8. Both teams performed well, with one team, "The First Order", comprising Tim Wiebes, Miles Jonson, Liam Kean and Bradley Scott making it through to the grand final to be held next term at Matamata.

It is a wonderful achievement to make the semi-finals, which are made up of the top 48 teams from over 200. To then progress on to the final 12 teams is exceptional. The semi-final round held at Katikati College on  June 27 was very close with just 20 points separating the top four teams. Katikati College placed 3rd behind two Tauranga Intermediate teams which tied for first place, just 10 points ahead of the Katikati team. Our other team "Katikati Brainyacks" comprising Hannah Gourlay, Kara McCormick, Jacob Doidge and Leo Willacy came a notable 8th and at times held much higher positions on the leaderboard.

All of the students have expressed a keenness to return next year and compete again. Many thanks to friends and families for their support.
