The 41st National Youth Jazz Competition was held at Baycourt on Wednesday March 28 to Friday March 30.

Katikati College student Louie Campbell participated with the Tauranga Girls College and Katikati College Combo,  ‘Thomas the Tank Engine'.  Their combo band won the Norman Family Trophy for Best Jazz Combo, as well as Best Vocalist and Best Keys. Louie also won the P & S Penman Trophy for Most Outstanding Bassist. This is a fantastic achievement by a very talented young man.
