On the 9th of June I performed in the Auckland Central Smokefree Rockquest Regional Finals with my metal band "Silvera", writes Year 12 student Louie Campbell.

The regional finals required us to perform one to two original songs within a seven minute time frame. We performed two songs from our EP,  “Octane” and “Monster.”  We competed against 14 other bands including our good friends from “Ugly Friday.”  After all the bands had performed and the judges had decided who would be given places, we were awarded 1st place, meaning we won $500 to spend at the Rockshop and the opportunity to compete in the Smokefree Rockquest National Final. To compete to be selected in the National Final we have to send in a video of us playing four original songs within a 16 minute time frame. This will be our focus for the next few weeks.
