Arts Update

Sonia Bullot —

It has been a very busy time in the Music and Art Departments this term.

Music seniors have been busy finishing off their solo performances and compositions, showing their talents at a very high level. It has been a pleasure to have listened to them. We are all gearing up for the senior graduation dinner and prize givings and our sound and lighting crew have been working tirelessly to make sure these events will look and sound great.

After being postponed three times, Lip Sync finally went ahead on Friday, October 30 with four well rehearsed acts. Jorja McKeown demonstrated clever acting skills with a very well thought out backing track. The seniors put on a great High School Musical item but it was the teacher entry that took the win and truly showed us another side to them. We look forward to the fierce competition next year to see if they can hold their title or will the students take it out in 2021? Watch this space.

We are planning big things for next year and hope 2021 will be kind enough to allow you all to see the wonderful talent that our school holds. From the Music department we all wish you a safe and happy Christmas and look forward to kicking off 2021 with a musical bang.

The Art department has been quietly humming with creativity as our final portfolio boards for 2020 came to life! The Year 11s were first up with their boards due at the end of Week 2, and the Year 12s were next at the end of Week 3. Both year groups did a fantastic job with some incredible painting, design and photography created.

Our Year 13s were ready at the end of Week 4 to hand in their final portfolio boards, some having completed three years or preparing boards. We have some fantastic artists in our College and we congratulate them on another year of incredible artwork!
