International Students at Katikati College
Last term we were lucky enough to host another group of students from an international language school in Japan. It was a small group of 8 students, one teacher and one mother due to the age of the students.
They came to our school and were buddied up with two Katikati College students each. A lot of fun and learning was had in the 10 days they were with us.
The group got to visit Rotorua and spend time with their host families at the weekend visiting local and nearby attractions.
I would like to thank all our host families and Katikati College buddies who helped make the ISOE international group visit such a success.
If you are interested in hosting a international student either short term or long term please email Kirsten on kcarson@katikati.college.school.nz
From our student's perspective
In Term 1 we were lucky enough to have an international group come for 10 days called ISOE Japanese Group. There were 8 students ranging from year 7-12 which were buddied with some of our students from Katikati College. It was a great experience for them to be able to learn some more English and about our lifestyle here in New Zealand and to learn a bit about Maori culture as well.
It was also interesting for the students here to learn more about Japan and how different it is from New Zealand. Overall ISOE Japanese Group had a great time at Katikati College and we hope to see them again in the future.
