A group of Year 9-11 students took to the Redwoods to participate in the Macpac Rogaine Series for BOP recently.
In a rogaine, teams of two to five people choose which checkpoints to visit within a time limit with the intent of maximizing their score.
The group had a blast trying to read the maps to find all the markers hidden throughout the forest. The boys' group scored the most points of the 3 teams despite having issues with their map app. One of the girls' teams got lost and ended up coming back a minute late which penalized their score. The students are keen to give the next Rogaine a go. It will be in Hamilton next term. If you're interested in entering a team, please see Mrs Walden.
