ARC | Aspiration, Responsibility and Citizenship

Hilary Johnson —

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." Those words are about as true as the tooth fairy. Words can hurt. In fact, few things hurt more.

Our words have a greater impact on one another than we know. We rarely intend for our words to hurt others. How often do we deliberately consider how our words could show respect, compassion or empathy?

As we begin Term 2 our ARC focus is on Speaking Positively. We will look at the importance of speaking positively and kindly to one another. What are things we should say to each other more often? Students will be recognised for speaking positively.

The BTBuy Shop opens from Week 2 onwards. Students can redeem recognition points they have gained to “purchase” from a range of items, from canteen goodies to stationery items to retail vouchers. The shop will be open Mondays and Tuesdays every second week for the rest of the school year.
