On Wednesday 9th  August International Cellist Aaron Minsky came to Katikati College and ran a three hour workshop with our string students. 

Our students all learnt some valuable skills about playing modern music on their string instruments and delved into learning about blues pentatonic scales and improvising over a 12 bar blues. 

At the end Mr Minsky performed one of his own pieces which involves playing a cello sideways like a guitar and strumming - an awesome experience made possible with funding from the Katikati Lions Club.
