On Saturday 25th February an invitation football team, made up of players from Katikati 14/15 grade, 1st Xl and 2nd Xl teams, travelled to Huntly for a game against the long established Huntly Thistle Football Club who were fielding an U17 team.

Playing in very hot conditions on a hard surface made for an energy sapping, fast flowing game. Katikati started out strong and continued throughout the game with goals scored by Jaxon Stacey, Jake Hannah and Anthony Jones. Our Goal Keepers, Matt Aylwin and Nikolai Frandi, did well to keep Huntly scoreless and the game ended with a well-deserved 7 – 0 victory to Katikati.

This was a good pre-season match that gave Coach Avi Arora a good look at some of the up and coming talent for the 2017 season.
