Students have been following the design process to make a simple drawstring backpack lined with water-resistant fabric, experimenting with colour choices and combinations and using paint and fabric markers on fabric.

The students have learned new skills such as how to add a pocket to the inside and how to insert eyelets for the drawstring. Designs included sport, flowers, animals, initials, characters and words. Each student has chosen their fabric colours and design so each bag is unique. The students have enjoyed seeing their designs come to life on their bags.
