Over the last weekend of September our region was represented at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Clay Target Championships by ten boys from Tauranga Boys College and Ryan Crapp from Katikati College.

Ryan won the SI Single Rise HOA and NZ Single Rise HOA and also won the SI Aggregate (including Skeet) High Gun. He also placed 2nd Boy in the NZ Skeet event and was 1st in both the SI and NZ Single Rise Kilwell Trophy matches. He missed out on the NZ Aggregate (including Skeet) High Gun after a shoot-off and was only one point off the SI HOA shoot-off. This was a great effort in his last secondary school shoot. Well done Ryan!
Ryan's consistent shooting over the weekend earned him a place in the Eastern Regional DTL team which placed 2nd after a shoot-off and Ryan was the top shooter in this event out of all the competitors. Ryan and Shaun Gwillim, from Tauranga Boys College, along with Mac Livingstone of St Peters in Cambridge were the top three North Island Skeet shooters who beat their South Island counterparts in a round of Skeet. Ryan and Alex were also only two and three points respectively off the two day high gun as well.
