Important events for Year 10-13 students

Ian Nicholson —

It is a busy term ahead for our Year 11-13 students. Three key events this term are:

1. Our Senior Options Evening will be on Wednesday August 8 from 6.00 p.m. in the College Hall. We will have universities, polytechnics and representatives from the trades for you and your son/daughter to talk about possible career paths. Our Heads of Faculty will also be available to discuss 2019 courses. This is primarily an information evening for Years 10-12 students, however Year 13 students are also welcome to attend.

2. On  Thursday August 30  we will again have our Future Pathways Interviews for Years 10-12 students. We have appreciated parental attendance at these in the previous two years and feedback has been positive. We will contact parents and caregivers nearer the time with the specific details.

3. NCEA Derived Grade (practise) Exams are in Week 9 this term running between September 17 and 21. These exams are important as they will be a good indicator for students/parents as to where students are at with their external Achievement Standards. They are also what NZQA will use as evidence if your son/daughter is unable to sit the November exams. Please remember you can follow your son/ daughter's academic progress on our Parent Portal.    http://moodle.kkc.school.nz/
