Tauranga Gallery’s 2020 Visual Arts Folio Exhibition
2020 bought many challenges for our community and so came some hard work and determination from our students. At the end of last year once school had come to a close, a selection of our most talented Year 11 and 12 painting students had their final portfolio boards displayed in the Tauranga Gallery’s "2020 Visual Arts Folio Exhibition".
Our five selected students had their work exhibited along with all schools from the Bay of Plenty.
The opening morning of the exhibition was fantastic. Our students and their whānau came along to view the stunning work on display. There was a selection of student speakers from a range of schools who spoke about their work, the challenges they faced and what inspired them to produce their portfolio boards. It was great to see a range of different genres, topics and creative ideas from the students and they all really enjoyed being involved in the exhibition.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our visual art students and their whānau on their hard work and determination at the end of last year. Portfolio boards can be a stressful time for all, but it always pays off to see the incredible work produced!
A special mention to the following students who had their work displayed in the exhibition: Lavleen Kaur (Year 11), Nicole Blake (Year 11), Anita Clews (Year 12), Natalia House (Year 12) and Makayla Managh (Year 12). Well done girls!
This is an event the Arts Department plans on being involved in every year, and we look forward to seeing what our students produce in 2021!
