Hamish Carr —

Well done to our two Year 9 and 10 teams which made it through heats and semi-finals at the Waikato / BOP finals to compete at the grand final late last term.

The teams travelled through to St Pauls in Hamilton on two consecutive nights to compete. Their final placing at the finals was 10th equal. Out of a field of over 90 teams this is an outstanding effort. My thanks to all the parents for their support. It was wonderful to have time to visit the Hamilton Gardens ahead of the grand final. A must visit if you are in the Tron!

Our Senior team is currently training at lunchtimes as they are through to the semifinals in the BOP/Waikato/Auckland competition. They scored the highest points in their heat to advance to the semi finals, to be held in Auckland on September 15. Again the Finals will be the following evening, fingers crossed we are heading back to Auckland on the following day.
Year 9 and 10 finalists: Liam Kean, Murdoch Cameron, Miles Jonson, Tim Wiebes, Hannah Gourlay, Kara McCormick, Leo Willacy, Jacob Doidge.
The College is very proud of the achievements of all the competitors and when the opportunity arose to purchase electronics kits to expand on the two mechanical kits fundraised for in 2020, I took up the opportunity. Now I just need to find $1800 to pay for the kits. Please if you can assist with funding this exciting engineering, maths and science venture please contact me.
