2021 Police Pathways Programme Graduation

Gaylia Bundle —

Congratulations to La Toya Ma, Oliver Griffiths, Alex Fagan and Shawna Rae who graduated from the 2021 Police Pathways Programme at Waihi College on Thursday, November 28.

The Secondary School Police Pathways programme provides students with the opportunity to understand and experience key policing practices and principles before joining the New Zealand Police. The programme is physically and academically challenging, and our students joined trainees from Waihi College and Paeroa College for a full day of learning every Tuesday this year.

La Toya, Oliver and Alex received their graduation certificates from Constable Tracey Lemon, Tauranga Public Safety Team, who is a former student of Waihi College and has been very involved with the course. (Unfortunately Shawna was unwell and could not attend.) Oliver also won the Victoria Lemon Transform Today Physical Training Award, for superb commitment and performance during PT. A special thank you goes to Senior Constable Harley North (Waihi Community Constable) and Senior Constable David Grant (Paeroa Community Constable) for their support, plus special guest Eastern Waikato Area Commander Inspector Dean Anderson who presented the top awards for the evening.
