Waihi Beach Surf Club's Cory Macdonald and Taine A’Bear-Horgan placed 1st in the U16 Males Line Throw Relay event in the August SLSNZ Eastern Region Pool Championship.  

Given the difficulty of this very technical event, this was an excellent result for this new pairing. Trinity Nikora and Jazz Giddings also achieved personal bests in all 5 of their events (200m Swim with Obstacles, 100m Manikin Tow, 100m Rescue Medley, 50m Swim with Fin & 50m Manikin Carry) showing the gains they have made with their winter training. This event will lead on to the Pool Champ Nationals.
